What exactly am I buying?
A lifetime license that lets you connect your own storage to the DeNet network and provide up to 10 TB of disk space. Hardware is not included. Your license will be assigned to your wallet within 7 days of purchase as an ERC-721 token (NFT) on peaq blockchain.
Where do my earnings come from?
DeNet clients pay to store their files. Datakeepers receive rewards for storing that data and proving it remains available.
How much can I earn?
Your rewards depend on how much client data your Datakeeper stores and network demand. Connecting 10 TB doesn't mean all 10 TB will be filled immediately.
When do I start earning?
You start getting rewards once your Datakeeper node receives client data and successfully verifies it stores data. Data is distributed gradually as clients upload files. Starting earlier gives you more time to build your rating, which may provide an advantage in future data distribution.
What are the technical requirements to run a Datakeeper?
You need a computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux with at least 100 GB of free disk space, 1 GB of RAM, and an internet connection with at least 10 Mbps speed. Your computer should stay online to store client data and earn rewards. A static IP address is recommended but not required.
Can I run multiple licenses on one computer?
Yes. Each license supports up to 10 TB and connects to one storage pool. Multiple licenses allow you to participate in different pools.
Do I need to keep my computer on 24/7?
Your Datakeeper should stay online to store data and earn rewards. Short interruptions are fine, but extended downtime can affect your node's performance and rating.
What happens if my node goes offline?
Your Datakeeper may temporarily stop earning rewards. If it misses too many verification proofs, it can be removed from its storage pool. You can restore its operation without purchasing another license.
How do I withdraw my earnings?
Your rewards are earned in TBY. You can convert them into USDT or USDC through the Datakeeper Console and withdraw to your wallet at any time.
Are there any additional fees?
There are no recurring license fees. You only cover the costs of running your equipment, such as electricity and internet.
